The First District Catholic Aid Society helps clients in the first district of St. Mary’s County and parishioners in need from St. Michael’s, St. Peter Claver, and St. Cecilia’s. 

There are four ways to donate: 

1. Drop off a check made out to FDCAS at the church rectory

2. Send a check by mail to First District Catholic Aid Society, P.O. Box 429, Ridge, MD 20680

3. Make a donation online by selecting First District Catholic Aid Society fund (Click Here to Give Online)

4. Put cash in one of the special envelopes located in the church vestibule and fill out the donation information slip to receive an end of the year tax statement for your charitable contribution.

• Food Pantry: Operates twice a week and supports those who are in need from Lexington Park to Point Lookout.

• Three Oaks: Money is used for food, medications, and rent.  We also have volunteers who prepare a meal each month for 20-25 residents.

• Hospice of St. Mary's: Room and board are not covered by Medicare or insurance.  The funds are used for room and board for those that cannot afford to pay.

• Pastoral Counseling Center of St. Mary's: Their clients are mostly the same clients who use the Food Pantry.  They receive one on one counseling.  This organization gets no United Way Contributions, and they are dependent on our donation.

• Health Share of St. Mary's County: Their focus is on dental care, but they also provide funds for copay for prescriptions, medical supplies, and health care.  This is a joint effort by physicians, MedStar, the Health Department, and the Department of Social Services.  They have no paid staff.
