We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as our Parish Secretary. This position plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the parish and serving as the first point of contact for visitors, parishioners, and staff. This is a part-time position (about 20 hours/week).
Responsibilities Include: - Managing phone calls, emails, in-person inquiries - Maintaining parish records and databases - Coordinating schedules, meetings, and events - Preparing and distributing parish communications including weekly bulletin and Flocknote - Assisting with financial record-keeping - Maintaining parish website - Preparing for liturgical celebrations - Maintaining Church and office supplies and procurement - Other responsibilities as needed - Pickup and drop off mail as well as dropping off banking deposit - Coordinating with the secretary at St Peter Claver
Qualifications: - Strong organizational and communication skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office management software - Ability to handle confidential information with discretion - A welcoming and compassionate demeanor - Previous administrative or secretarial experience preferred - Familiarity with the Catholic Church, liturgy, and Church operations is a plus
